 |
 |
Whatever your scene
you can be sure to feel right at home in South East
London with its eclectic mix of bars and nightclubs.
It would be a crime to talk about the scene in South
East without first mentioning The Stonewall
Bar [map] which has been a premier part of gay life
in Lewisham for many years. Serving the lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender population community as well
as their straight friends, this place is an energetic
and lively venue. Enjoy a range of dedicated nights
including men-only male stripper nights and a friendly
karaoke evening. The Stonewall Bar is located on Lewisham
High Street, Lewisham.
For a great night out try some authentic cabaret at George
& Dragon [map],
Blackheath Hill, Greenwich. With a selection of top acts
on offer you’re sure to have a giggle.
Stay in Greenwich for a range of traditional pubs.
Head to The Gloucester at King William
Walk, or The Rose and Crown [map], Crooms
Hill, for laid-back drinking and a good place to socialise
with friends.
Funkier folk tend to head to The Crash Bar [map],
The Albert Embankment, which has a young energetic crowd
of mainly men who enjoy some lively Friday and Saturday
nights.
If you prefer al fresco drinking make the most of summer
nights with a visit to Dukes [map],
Kennington Lane, which has a huge beer garden and makes
for a perfect pint on a warm evening.
The Royal Vauxhall Tavern [map] is a great
place for socialising and enjoying some seriously ambient
chill out nights. The Tavern is located on Kennington
Lane and is a popular place with straight and gay people
in the area.
For after hours fun head to The Fort [map],
Grange Road, for a wind-down after the clubs are finished
or make some new friends at The Depot [map],
Great Suffolk Street.
