Woodstock this is an excellent romantic retreat.
The restaurant offers exquisite dining dreamt up by resident
chef David Edwards and dishes include Seared Scallops,
Courgette Beignets and Aubergine Caviar, Roast Rump of
Lamb with Goats Cheese Ravioli. This is an extremely popular
restaurant so book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
Meat eaters will adore Le Petit Blanc [map],
which offers a tempting French menu of the highest order.
Celebrated chef Raymond Blanc is in charge here so expect
the unexpected. Choose from such delights as suckling
pig and what must surely be the finest steak in Oxford,
all washed down with a large and extensive wine list.
Another fine restaurant offering French cuisine is La
Goose D’ail [map] on Woodstock Road, which
offers dining in its beautiful interior or al fresco
dining during the warm summer evenings. Try the lobster
and add one of the delicate wines on offer for a really
fresh experience.
For a really different experience head to Savannah [map] on Park End Street, which is a temptingly modern
restaurant that offers diners the chance to see their
food being cooked and prepared.
With a distinctive exterior Gee’s Restaurant [map],
naturally offers distinctive cuisine. Housed in an elegant
Victorian conservatory, Gee’s offers modern British
and Mediterranean fusion food with a twist. It’s
only small so reserve your table early.
