Live Music in Norwich |
 |
 |
Whatever your taste in music there’s bound to be
a venue in Norwich where you can enjoy an evening of live
musical entertainment.
For starters there’s the UEA Union [map],
a concert hall come theatre set within the university’s
student union complex, which plays host to top-named bands
such as The Darkness, Embrace and Gene.
Also run by the union is The Waterfront [map] on King Street, one of the region’s leading venues
for alternative music. Performers to have graced the
stage here include Beverley Knight, Therapy? and The Damned.
If classical music is more your style then head
to St Andrew’s Hall [map] on St Andrew’s Plain, which is regular haunt
for the Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra.
Norwich Cathedral [map] and the Music Room in Assembly House [map] on Theatre Street also stage regular classical concerts
and lunchtime recitals.
Finally, the most well known venue locally for live music
is probably Norwich Arts Centre [map] on St Benedict’s Street, which hosts jazz concerts,
pop performers, country and western singers and rock bands.
