GO Theatre In North West London |

When you think of London theatre you will usually think
of the bright lights of the West End, but north west London
has theatres which can rival the West for stage entertainment. For a simulating evening of theatre you could see what’s on at the Tricycle Theatre [map]. Productions at this venue tend be topical or political but are generated by known writers as well as up-and-coming Irish, Afro-Caribbean, Jewish and Asian writers who appeal to the local community. Established in 1980, the theatre also conducts workshops and education programmes. With over 70 years worth of summer performances under its belt, you are sure to be well entertained at the Open Air Theatre [map] in Regents Park. Vivien Leigh, Dame Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes and Martin Clunes have all graced this theatre's varied programme of events. Performances can be seen from the end of May to early September when the British weather will hopefully be on its best behaviour. Fresh, innovative work and the occasional classic revival is what you’ll find at Hampstead’s New End Theatre [map]. This venue has recently attracted David Soul and Jerry Hall and continues to stage a programme that could surprise and impress you. For something a little more light-hearted you can head to the Etcetera Theatre [map], NW1. Here you probably come across young actors improvising for comic and/or dramatic effect but this pub theatre has a lot of alternative performances on offer. Northwest London is also home to Hampstead Theatre [map] , Theatro Technis [map] and the Cockpit Theatre [map], NW8.
