Dance in North West London |
 |
 |
The art the body can create through a sequence of moves
can be beautiful and mesmerising, if you want to get involved
either visually or physically in artistic dance then you
could try north west London.
The area plays host to the UK Foundation For Dance who are based in Marylebone. Their aim is simply to promote
dance, and they do this partly by running the Marylebone
Dance Studio [map]. Here professional dance ensembles can practice their
shows while instructors hold open dance classes for the
non-professional enthusiasts.
Contemporary African Dance Company Badejo Arts [map] are also based in NW1. They have a similar remit of promotion
and education but with a focus on dance and music from
the heart of Africa. Productions from the company have
included a multi-media exploration of experiences from
African descendants in Britain and a piece that looks
at human expressions through the rhythm of life.
Productions involving dance are sometimes shown at north
west London’s Tricycle theatre [map] however probably the most popular place in London to see
contemporary dance is Saddler’s Well Theatre [map] in Clerkenwell, central London.
