stretch to a luxury dining experience why not check out
the best of the budget offerings in the area. When it comes to eating on a budget in London, Japanese food does not usually feature, however in north west London you could be in luck. Asakusa [map] on Eversholt Street, seems to recreate the atmosphere of a Tokyo eatery in NW1, without any London pretence. The food tastes authentic and the prices are affordable so it’s certainly worth a try. Tucked away behind Swiss Cottage tube station you’ll find Singaporean and Malaysian food at a steal. Although it may be a little out of your price range at dinner time, you’ll find that the Singapore Garden [map] has a bargain set lunchtime menu offering three courses for under £10. Take two lefts from Euston station and you’ll come across the aptly named Great Nepalese [map]. The menu contains dishes from Nepal as well as India, and the authentic flavours really pack a punch. Main courses start from around £5 with a special lunchtime menu that represents real value for money. For something a little lighter you could try tasting the delights of one of north west London’s landmark eateries, the Hampstead Creperie [map] . Sweet and savoury crepes of all kinds are available, allowing you to enjoy French food without having to fork out a small lottery win. When you think of having a burger the first places to come to mind are the high street stalwarts which are cheap and cheerful enough, however for a real burger taste you should try the Gourmet Burger Kitchen [map]. There are outlets across London but in north west London head for the Hampstead branch where you can enjoy your food in a laid back atmosphere. Surprisingly Polish food is also available on the cheap in north west London at Zamoyski [map]. Located close to Hampstead Heath this restaurant offers a range of inexpensive Polish culinary delights in decent sized portions – it’s no wonder this place is popular!
