Takeaway in Newcastle |

Whether
you’ve been enjoying Bigg Market in rowdy Geordie
style or not, you’ll find it a convenient choice
for traditional takeaway treats. In and around the area
you’ll find pizza, kebabs, burgers and of course
curry.
One of the top choices for curry on Bigg Market is the
famous Rupali [map].
With starring roles in both the Guinness Book of Records
and Viz, this restaurant has a great choice of curry for
you to take home and enjoy. The restaurant is open seven
days a week until midnight on weekdays, and until 2am
on Saturdays so whatever time of the evening you crave
curry, Rupali will be on hand.
For an alternative to Rupali, try the Golden Bengal
[map] on Groat Market. This traditional Indian restaurant,
which opens until 11.30pm everyday, offers convenience
and value when it comes to curry in the comfort of your
own home.
So you’ve been on your diet for all of two weeks
and you can already feel your resolve cracking –
what you wouldn’t give for something tastier than
salad…. Well at Tantalus [map] you can get a flavoursome feed without feeling guilty.
Tantalus is a restaurant located close
to the Blue carpet where food is prepared to minimize
the cholesterol and calories but maximise the taste, providing
a healthy choice for those who can’t face the cooking.
Although not available in the evening, they do offer takeaway
food for lunch, your choice includes hot meals like Roasted
Spinach and Brie Roulade, Smoked Cod & Spring Onion
Fishcakes as well as sandwiches and cakes.
If you’d rather have Italian food in front of the
telly, but want something a little more sophisticated
than pizza, then Pani’s Café [map] could be for you. Located on High Bridge, the choice includes
bruschetta, gnocchi, a variety of pastas and a great choice
for vegetarians as well - the only thing you won’t
find in fact is pizza!
