Comedy In Liverpool |

If you fancy laughing your socks off during your stay
in Liverpool then get along to one of the city’s
many comedy venues for an evening of fantastic entertainment.
Probably the most famous place to catch something funny
going on in Liverpool is the Rawhide Comedy Club [map],
which operates at Central Hall in the Mount Pleasant area
of Liverpool. It's standing room only as some of the best
comedians on the North West and national circuit perform
each weekend to a lively crowd.
To catch a glimpse of the star comedians of today and
tomorrow the Neptune Theatre [map] on Hanover Street is well worth a visit. Set in a Grade
II listed building, the theatre has a classic Edwardian
interior and is just a two-minute walk from Central Station.
The theatre plays host to the well-known Neptune Comedy
Club, which has had the likes Eddie Izzard, Steve Coogan, Julian Clary and Rory Bremner on its books in the
past.
Another firm favourite among Liverpool’s comedy
lovers is the Late Room [map],
which is based within the Life Café. With
a lavishly designed interior and an upper balcony with
seating, the venue is perfect for a great comedy show.
Guests can enjoy a meal before the entertainment starts
and then dance until 2am once the comedians have finished
for the night. There is a good selection of wines and
cocktails at the bar, and the club tends to get packed
out, so it is worth booking your tickets beforehand at
the Virgin Megastore in Clayton Square.
For an evening of family comedy why not head out of the
city to the neighbouring town of Warrington. Here you’ll
find the Theatre Royal [map],
which plays host to many big names in family entertainment
and often stages children’s shows. Among the stars
to perform at the theatre are Kenn Dodd and Honor
Blackman.
