| Covering enough
space to house 20 football pitches, the Cheshire Oaks
Designer Outlet Village [map],
just off the M53 near Ellesmere Port, is the UK’s
largest designer outlet.
Since opening in 1995, more than 40 million people have
visited the centre, to shop at its 145 stores, which offer
everything from clothing and footwear to toys and gifts
– all sold at up to 50% off original high street
prices.
Among the designer labels you can find here are Calvin
Klein Jeans, Episode, Burberry and Adidas, as well as popular high street
shops, such as Oasis, Warehouse and Marks and Spencer.
For women looking to buy that perfect outfit without spending
a fortune, there is a wealth of shops to choose from including Ben Sherman, Elle, Monsoon and Next
Clearance. If it’s menswear you’re after
then try Fred Perry, Helly Hansen, Gap, Mexx and Tommy Hilfiger.
Cheshire Oaks also has a number of shops selling children’s
clothes including Ralph Lauren Boys and Girls and Gap Kids.
Shoppers hoping to pick up a few things to furnish their
homes should head for the Marks and Spencer Outlet, Bed and Bath Works or The Professional Cookware
Company, to name but a few.
If you’re bringing the family along and the kids
will not stop moaning, fear not for there are three children’s
play areas at the outlet village, while the Blue
Planet Aquarium and Chester Zoo are not far away.
Cheshire Oaks also has spacious eateries including McDonalds,
Harry Ramsden’s, Villa Pizza, La Brioche and Garfunkels,
where you can relax and enjoy a meal in between your spending
spree.
Those hoping to spot a celebrity during their visit might
be in luck as bargain-hunting stars, including footballers
David James and Ian Rush and an array of soap stars, have
been seen here in the past.
Even the Queen has shopped at Cheshire Oaks when she made
a special visit to the designer outlet in 1998 during
a visit to the North West.
