If you long
for somewhere to chill out with your own crowd then
Leeds has a bar to suit your needs. Become a bar fly
and check out the very best that the city has to offer.
If chic is more your style head to Park Row, near Greek
Street which is the home of the financial district,
for some modern drinking and some good tunes.
Your first stop should be one of the biggest and the
best, Firefly [map],
which is one of the newer bars in town. As well as enjoying
some classic drinks and the chance to settle down in
the swanky brown sofas, a visit to Firefly will also
give you the opportunity to savour some of the traditional
and modern additions to the menu.
Staying around Greek Street Henry’s [map], Prohibition [map] and The Living Room [map] are all on hand.
Your next stop should be the ultra-modern The Calls
[map] , the ideal place to visit if you fancy bumping
into a celebrity or footballer. This district is lined
with some famous names including BRB, Fibre
[map] and Mook [map].
In the swanky Headrow area of town you’ll find
Leeds’ newest kid on the block, Baby Cream [map],
which is part of the hugely popular Cream nightclub
chain and is only the second of its kind in the UK –
the first being in Cream’s hometown of Liverpool.
This bar and restaurant offers the ultimate in glitz
and glamour, and has already proved a hit with local
celebrities.
If you’re young with alternative tastes pop over
to The Corn Exchange [map] for Ben, Cuban Heels and Elemental
[map].
The top end of town has a small selection of good bars
including Lounge [map], Mojo [map], North [map] and Sandinista [map].
Sandinista is famous in the local area for its vast
range of potent cocktails, and proves a great way to
start a heady night on the tiles.
