Libraries in Harrogate
are run by North Yorkshire County Council who have
more than 45 libraries across the region, as well as mobile
libraries.
Harrogate’s main library is the library and information
centre at Victoria Avenue [map]. It is open from
9.30am-7pm Monday to Friday and from 9.30am-5:00pm on a Saturday.
Residents and those who work or study in Harrogate can
borrow books, Playstation games, DVDs, talking books and
CDs from the library, whilst visitors to the area can
still access the Internet, use the research tools
in the library and make use of the other facilities including
fax, microfilm and photocopier.
This library is a real part of the community and also
offers class visits, reading groups, story time for youngsters,
a study area for students, and local history studies for those keen to uncover their family tree or learn more
about Harrogate.
The library is also a warm and friendly place to learn
and many offer basic skills courses and drop-in
centres that are open to all. If you want to brush up
on your Maths or English skills or need help dealing with
bills or filling in application forms, take the opportunity
to visit your local library and find out more. |
