If you’re
looking for a great place to stay that doesn’t cost
the earth but still want to have that touch of luxury
a guesthouse might be just the thing.
Offering comfortable accommodation and a breakfast but
still retaining that real sense of traditional hotel,
guesthouses are top of many people’s accommodation
list.
The Geminian Guesthouse [map] on Franklin Road
is a sunny and friendly guesthouse right in the centre
of Harrogate. The bedrooms are en suite and decorated
very tastefully. There’s also a four-poster bedroom available if you’re planning to celebrate an anniversary
or romantic occasion at The Geminian.
The Roxanne Guesthouse is located at
Franklin Mount and is, again, very central for those keen
to embark on some sightseeing. It offers modernised accommodation
and friendly service. It also has strong links
with a nearby language academy so it’s well worth
socialising with other guests over breakfast.
If you’re looking for somewhere a little different
why not check into the beautiful Applewood House [map] on St Georges Road. This stunning Victorian
residence has been totally renovated to offer luxuriously
modern accommodation to discerning travellers. Bedrooms
are spacious and en suite. Light and airy décor
and soft furnishings make the rooms a place in which to
relax and some rooms even have original Victorian fireplaces
and other fixtures.
The Alexander [map] on Franklin Road is another
beautiful house. This white and light hotel is surrounded
by greenery and offers wonderfully furnished rooms and
a guest lounge in which guests can socialise. A hearty
breakfast should keep you going all day and The Alexander
also caters for people on special diets and vegetarians.
