Fine Dining In Edinburgh |
 |
 |
If you’re
planning on upping the budget and doing your dining in
style you’ll be impressed with the range of quality
award-winning restaurants in Edinburgh.
Begin your search for the very best in Edinburgh’s
Georgian New Town. This is where the famous Haldanes
Restaurant [map] is located. This elegant and intimate venue brings together
classical and innovative dishes using West Coast seafood,
Scottish beef, lamb and game. There’s an extensive
wine and malt whisky list too. If you’re looking
for that extra touch of Scottish hospitality the Haldanes,
on Albany Street, should appeal.
Combine dining with celeb-spotting and check out the restaurant
at The Howard Hotel. Diners including Sean Connery,
Elton John and Cliff Richard have experienced the finest
Scottish cuisine in The Atholl Restaurant [map], which
is centrally located in the Georgian hotel on Great King
Street.
Scotland and Spain might not seem a likely combination
but Scottish beef and tapas are comfortable bedfellows
at Iggs Restaurant [map],
Jeffrey Street, which serves a range of local and continental
cuisine. The restaurant has a cosmopolitan bar – Barioja – next door, which is famed for its
larger than life atmosphere.
Stay on the tourist trail and book your table at The
Witchery by The Castle [map].
This old town restaurant is located at the entrance to Edinburgh Castle, Castlehill, The Royal Mile, and
offers a large dining area plus al fresco dining in summer evenings on the heated terrace.
The Witchery uses the very best of Scotland’s produce
including Angus beef, lamb, game and seafood and
draws locals, visitors and celebrities who arrive in droves
to sample James Thomson’s award-winning cuisine.
Above the Museum of Scotland, The Tower Restaurant [map] offers stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and the city’s
skyline. The Tower is a modern and luxurious venue specialising
in seafood and grills with a long wine list to
compliment any meal.
If sophistication is on the menu pay a visit to one of
the hottest restaurants in Edinburgh. The Atrium [map],
Cambridge Street, has a contemporary feel to it and offers
diners a winning combination of traditional Scottish
cuisine with a twist and Mediterranean speciality
dishes. Recent diners include Jack Nicholson and Mick
Jagger and this is definitely the place to be seen in.
