Looking
for lust in the Scottish capital does not have to be an
exhausting experience as horny hotspots are within easy
reach.
The recent arrival on Princes Street of Ann Summers
[map] , raised a few eyebrows, but Edinburgh has always
taken a more relaxed view of adult entertainment than
its main rival, Glasgow. Although plans for a prostitution
tolerance zone in Edinburgh were abandoned in 2002.
Not to be left out of Edinburgh’s festival fever
last year saw the inaugural Festival Erotique held
in the capital at the end of August. And
it was such a success that there was a repeat performance
in September 2004. For more information on plans for a
2005 erotic festival try festivalerotique.co.uk
Lap dancing bars are to be found in and around Tollcross,
with the Western Bar [map], Hooters [map] and Burke and Hare at Westport and Bottoms Up
[map] on Lothian Road.
A one-stop shop for all your erotic shopping requirements
is Leather and Lace [map]. With three branches across
the city centre all your catsuit, lingerie, PVC and stiletto
shoe (also available in men’s sizes) needs should
be catered for. However there’s also Erogenous
Zone [map] in Bread Street and Private on Leith Walk as alternatives.
There are also a number of massage parlours and saunas in Edinburgh catering for heterosexuals
and gays with Townhouse sauna being the most popular
