The Morning After in East London |
 |
 |
Whether it’s
comfort food you need to help you forget the embarrassment
of the night before or simply a plateful of something
to ease the hangover, you can find it in the East End.
One sure-fire way to keep the hangover at bay is a
hearty fry up of sausage, bacon, egg, beans and toast,
something E. Pellici is known for.
The food is inexpensive and if you can focus, there
are also newspapers to read there as well.
For a more traditional caff experience try L.
Rodi on Blackhorse Lane with its Formica tables
and 1950s tobacco posters this fine establishment has
been in the same family since 1925.
The S&M Café [map] E1 has all the trappings of an east end café but
with 14 different varieties of sausage (including pork,
leek and stilton) and numerous types of mash I doubt you’ll
be fooled for long.
If the morning after has you seeking refuge on a sofa
with some over-named coffee and a cake then Café
Mondo [map] in Stratford, with its contemporary art covered walls
might be a little more to suiting. On a similar vain the Bagel Factory [map] in Canary Wharf will suit those who have decided to resume
their healthy eating programme after a night or two of
lapsing.
