Whether you like your dance elegant and graceful or vibrant
and energetic, east London is attracting a variety of
shows to the area as well as encouraging the talent within. Stratford Circus [map] is the area’s premier dance venue with three performing arts spaces housed within an ultra modern looking glass and steel building. Located close to Stratford station on the Jubilee, Central and DLR rail lines. The venue is also home to East London Dance, an organisation whose remit is to create a vibrant dance culture across the boroughs on the capital’s east side. By using the diversity within the east London community, the organisation hopes to establish a dance culture that the local people will enjoy and participate in. One of their recent initiatives has been to bring in professional choreographers to train young people in the area. Other dance based shows can be seen at Hackney Empire [map] , Mare Street E8.
