The Morning After in Durham |
 |
 |
If you’re
feeling worse for wear after a night out, or just want
a good breakfast to start the day, then head to one Durham’s
cafés or fast food joints.
As you would expect in a city full of students, there
is the usual array of fast food restaurants, including
McDonalds, Burger King and Pizza Hut.
Although the others don’t open until late morning, McDonalds starts serving its breakfast menu at
7.30am, and with a choice of eggs, bacon and sausage,
you’ll soon be feeling human again.
But if you’re after something a little different
then why not sample the delights at Café Continental [map] on Silver Street, which has a good selection
of filling sandwiches and steaming hot coffee.
Another locally famous café is Whisper’s
Coffee Lounge [map] just off North Road, where
you can enjoy a slap-up breakfast, a quick snack or full
meal.
If it’s a breakfast on a bun you’re after
to line your stomach then try O’Brien’s
Irish Sandwich Bar [map] on Elvet Bridge, which
has a great breakfast menu. Among the delights on offer
here are, bacon, sausage and tomato bagels, soft cheese
bagels and toast with jam.
