Henley Lane, Yatton, which offers practice runs for beginners
as well as advice and assistance from coaches. Both men
and women are welcome here.
Youngsters will find plenty of places to practice including Konica Minolta Bristol [map] Youth Cricket League, St George’s Road, which is
one of the oldest junior leagues in the country having
started more than 35 years ago. Today the league has more
than 46 clubs and 155 teams, and encourages more than
2,500 youngsters to take up the sport.
For a golden oldie with a great reputation, head to Thornbury
Cricket Club [map] in Alveston, which has been around for more than 133 years.
The club competes in the West of England Premier League and the Bristol District League at senior level
and in the Bristol Youth League and Gloucestershire
Youth League at junior level.
