Self-Catering in Blackpool |
 |
 |
If you prefer to Do-It-Yourself
why not take advantage of Blackpool’s range of self-catering
holiday homes instead of taking the easy option of checking into
the nearest B&B.
There are plenty of apartments in all three of the tourist areas,
so all you need to decide is whether you want to stay in the North
Shore [map]
to be near the North Pier, the Central Shore [map]
to be close to the Tower or the South Shore [map]
for the Pleasure Beach.
Let’s start with the choice on offer in the North Shore area,
where there is a cluster of holiday flats on Queens Promenade
[map],
which is close enough to main attractions but away from the hustle
and bustle of central Blackpool.
Among them are the Haven Luxury Apartments [map],
a number of well-kept self-contained flats overlooking the sea. The
furnished apartments can sleep between up to six people, and all come
with bedding, TV, fridge, microwave, cooker, washing machine, and
central heating. Bus and tram services to Fleetwood
and St Annes pass directly outside the apartments, making it easy
for you to get out and about.
Also on Queens Promenade you’ll find the Queens Mansions
Holiday Apartments [map],
which boast 14 self-contained clean and comfortable flats.
There is a choice of one, two or three-bedroom apartments, all with
lounge, kitchen, bathroom, and all the usual home-from-home comforts
including colour TV, cooker, fridge, microwave and toaster. Cooking
utensils, crockery, cutlery, tea towels, oven gloves and cleaning
equipment are provided along with pillows, duvets and bed linen. So
all you really need to take with you is...well... yourself.
Just down the road from here are the Beach House Luxurious Holiday
Apartments [map],
which offers newly opened flats, one of which is for the disabled.
The apartments are non-smoking and enjoy a first class position overlooking
beaches and cliffs, and during late season, the Blackpool Illuminations.
All have their own parking bay and come complete with fridge-freezer,
microwave, dishwasher and washer dryer.
If you want a holiday apartment with B&B facilities then check
out the Palms Hotel and Apartments [map]
on Empress Drive on North Shore. Here you can choose a one-bedroom
suite or a studio, and all the flats cater for between two and five
people and come with a well-equipped kitchen. And to top it off you
can either choose from self-catering style accommodation or make use
of the hotel facilities, such as breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks.
To be close to the action you should stay in one of the many apartment
blocks on Central Shore, which are all within easy walking distance
of the Sealife Centre, the Tower, Winter Gardens and the shops.
Among them are the Havelock Court Holiday Flats [map]
on Coronation Street, which all have fully equipped kitchens,
with electric cooker, microwave and toaster, and sleep four to six
people. All bedding is provided but guests are asked to bring
along their own bath and tea towels. There is limited parking available
at the back but the Central Car Park is just a few strides away at
the bottom of Havelock Street.
Finally in the South Shire area close to Blackpool Pleasure Beach
and Sandcastle Waterworld, you’ll find the Grand Hotel Holiday
Flats [map].
This is the largest and most comprehensive self-catering complex
in Blackpool, which is situated just 200 metres from South Pier and
the main promenade. All of the 52 flats have a private bathroom
or shower and toilet, and a kitchen, colour TV, emersion heater for
hot water, electric fire, and shaver point. Crockery, cutlery, linen,
duvets and pillows are also provided.
A number of luxury flats are also available with all of the
features mentioned above along with a fitted oven and hob, microwave
oven, laminate wood flooring and free electric.
Guests are welcome to make use of the on site leisure facilities,
which include an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi,
solarium and gym. There is also a nightclub and café on the
premises.
