The Morning After in Blackpool |
 |
 |
Although the majority
of tourists will get a traditional English breakfast at their hotel
or B&B, those staying on a room only basis will want to know where
the nearest early bird café is.
So if you’re feeling worse for wear after a night out or just
want a hearty breakfast before setting off on a day of sightseeing,
Blackpool has a good choice of cafés, bistros and classic greasy
spoons.
As you would expect in Britain’s number one seaside resort,
there is the usual array of fast food restaurants, including Burger
King and KFC. But for a fry-up, toast and a steaming mug of coffee
you may prefer to head to Dunes Christian Coffee Shop [map]
on Squires Gate Lane. Here you’ll find a delicious menu of home
cooked dishes including a full English breakfast. The café
opens at 7.30am, making if perfect for those heading out – or
returning home – just after dawn. Tuck In Café
[map]
on Egerton Road and The Coffee Pot [map]
on Birley Street both offer a friendly, fast service and great home
cooking. The Tuck In Café is renowned for its cheap and
cheerful breakfasts, while The Coffee Pot has tables outside so
you do a spot of sunbathing.
For something a little more upmarket head to The Peppermill Cafe
Bar and Restaurant [map]
just down the road from The Coffee Pot. This is a family eatery
that has been established for 15 years. Here you’ll find a good
selection of home cooked food and freshly made sandwiches along with
a variety of teas and coffee. The café opens at 8:00am
all year round but is closed on Sundays.
Finally for vegetarians there is Lennards Eating House [map]
on Deansgate, where you can sit back and relax in a happy atmosphere
while tucking into a great veggie breakfast or lunch. Lennards
is mentioned in the Vegetarian and Vegan Guide Book and has been serving
freshly cooked food for over 18 years.
