When it comes to guest
houses, you’ll be spoilt for choice in Blackpool because the
place is packed to bursting with them.
To help you find the perfect home from home for your stay we’ve
picked out some in the area – but it’s fair to say these
are just the tip of the iceberg.
The accommodation you choose will probably depend on which part of
Blackpool you want to stay in; North Shore [map]
for the Grand Theatre, Central Shore [map]
for the Tower, or South Shore [map]
for the Pleasure Beach.
For a North Shore location try Rubens Hotel [map]
on Lord Street, a friendly and homely guesthouse just two minutes
from the Promenade and close to the Grand Theatre. The Tower, Winter
Gardens and town centre are also within easy walking distance. All
the bedrooms here are en suite and have tea/coffee making facilities,
colour TV and telephone. You can choose from double, twin and triple
bedrooms, and evening meals are available.
Next up is Grampian House [map]
on Pleasant Street, which is situated just 50 metres from the promenade.
The North Pier, Blackpool Tower, Winter Gardens and the Grand Theatre
are all just a short walk away. The bedrooms here are comfortably
furnished with en suite facilities, central heating, colour TV and
complimentary refreshment tray, while breakfast is served until 11am.
If you would prefer to stay in the bustling South Shore area then
check out the Benica Guesthouse [map]
on Crystal Road, a warm and friendly hotel suitable for families
and couples. All bedrooms here have en suite facilities, TV and tea/coffee
making equipment, while the guesthouse is located close to the Pleasure
Beach, Sandcastle and town centre shops.
Alternatively you could head for the Marlow Lodge Hotel [map]
on Station Road, a family-run establishment close to the Pleasure
Beach.
For those planning to stay in the heart of Blackpool there is the
Marston House Hotel [map]
on Park Road, which offers comfortable accommodation with en suite
bathrooms and colour TVs in each room. This family-run hotel also
boasts a recently refurbished TV lounge and dining room, an ideal
setting for relaxation and meeting fellow guests.
Finally, the Kimberley Guest House [map]
is also located in the Central Shore area on Gynn Avenue, which has
been run by the present owners for more than a decade. The Tourist
Board has rated the hotel with four diamonds, and it’s
so homely many of the guests even take their own slippers to walk
down to breakfast!
